Makueni Investor Forum

6th March 2010 will go down in the history of Kenyan councils as the day Makueni County Council, with the support of  Kenya ICT Federation, pioneered into untouched territory and held the first ever council investor forum the Makueni Investor Forum.  The Makueni investor forum was a definite success with 100% turnout and the main objective of the forum being completely achieved. The investor forum was organized to articulate and draw up the investment profile for Makueni.

e-Council Web Clinic successful

The much anticipated  e-Council Web Clinic was successfully held on 15th February 2010. The ICT officers and web masters from five Kenyan Councils were treated to a rigorous, interactive and fulfilling one day event on the necessary editorial guidelines and skills required to maintain the vitality of their Council websites, by regurlarly updating these with relevant content. Partipating Councils were the County Councils of Makueni and Nakuru, Town Council of Taveta, Municipal Councils of Nakuru and Machakos.

Wote, 23 October 2009 - The County Council of Makueni is the first Council in Kenya to offer computer-supported customer service at the Division level.

The National Conference "ICT in Local Government" (3rd September 2009) has brought all Municipal and County Councils up to speed with e-Government trends. This landmark event reviewed results of our 2009 activities programme with the three champion Councils Nakuru Municipal, Nakuru County and Makueni County, release research findings and demo technological innovations from within and outside Kenya. The ICT strategy of the Ministry of Local Government and the National e-Government Strategy are reviewed against the role of local government authorities. All Kenyan Councils participated.
